Warren Tips #1 Maximizing Personnel
Hey guys, I know a few of you have spoken to me about Madden and what not regarding getting better and I wanted to do something that shows little tips or things to help improve your game. Â I'm not doing this saying I'm great at Madden or anything but I've been playing forever and used to be a pretty decent tournament player. Â I figured I could pick a topic each week and open up a discussion with everyone to input their ideas and what not to help everyone get better. Â If anyone has any specific questions about Madden PM me I'd like to post a response for everyone to see if it will help anyone.
How many times do we see teams with stud players who never get the ball? Â We then ask the owner who somehow allowed Calvin Johnson who only averages 2 catches a game for a trade and they say no. Â Well if you aren't using him, why not? Â (example purposes, not really with CJ).
I think a big factor for everyone is not using their personnel to it's fullest. Â With each team we all should have one or two big time playmakers who should be the focal point of the offense (without breaking rules ) and it's time to get them involved and make them a threat. Â If I play an owner who has AJ Green and he barely catches the ball, why am I worried?
An example from myself would be taking over the Colts. Â Season 1 they had a good possession WR in Reggie Wayne, a downfield threat in TY Hilton and two TEs with upside in Allen/Fleener. Â During the season I rarely ran 3 WR sets, I ran a lot of 2/3 TE sets and worked underneath until I could hit Hilton for a big play. Â I used Fleener as a WR in a bunch of packages to get my best players on the field. Â Take advantage of personnel packages.
Season 2, I lose Wayne, added Marcell Reece and Legarrette Blount, have no #2 WR and my game plan changed big time. Â I don't have 1 stud RB so I use them all. Â I use each player in their own way to maximize my offense. Â
Personnel Packages. Â Seriously. Â Instead of throwing to some 70 CIT WR across the middle, use a TE, use one of your other WRs. Â On screens, why throw it to a WR with no AGI? Â Use all of your players to get them touches to get them to help your offense. Â If your QB has bad deep accuracy, find a shorter passing offense. Â It all seems simple but a lot of people don't do this, it seems like they call whatever then get mad and complain when it doesn't work.
Another thing, read the defense. Â I don't mean read the coverage as much as just reading the freaking defense. Â 8/9 in the box? Pass! 2nd and 1 DON'T RUN PLAY ACTION. Â Be smart about your play calling which I'll discuss another time but it's sometimes a huge reason why people struggle to score. Â
I felt like a rambled throughout this whole post so if it even helped anyone a little bit then I'm okay with that. Â Again, PMs with any questions I'd be more than happy to help or possible other topic discussions. Â Also, anyone chime in with what they do or what works for them to get the most out of their players.

I like this. and will contribute more when I get to a subject I am more aware of... as for this I know the feeling with Having Marshal, Jeffery, Forte, and Bennett I'm not using them all the way they should be using. my problems to many weapons maybe..... PM sent.

But but but I want to keep running my every down shotgun draws on the goal line! You can't tell me what plays to call!
Re: Warren Tips #1 Maximizing Personnel
